I’ve always loved books that inspire children to be who they want to be and encourage them to never give up on their dreams. Children are impressionable little humans, and as much as traditional fairytales give that sense of fantasy and escapism, I think children also need that to be balanced with real life. The number of diverse children’s books being published today are overwhelming, especially compared to what was available when I was a wee nipper. Although I don’t have any kids, I still love to share empowering children’s books that deserve credit for sharing a different kind of bedtime story.
The Little People, BIG DREAMS Collection by Isabel Sanchez Vegara tell stories of famous people who all had childhood dreams they were determined to fulfil. The books turn life achievements into simplistic stories adapted to suit children of all ages. The illustrations make them perfect for reading alongside children and bring the stories to life.
